Whatever you want to call it, I made it! I am disproportionately thrilled with this one because it came out of my head.
A learning experience with (to me at least) glaring imperfections, I know just how to get it right now and, after wearing it for merely a day – I only take it off at night at the moment! 😉 – I have two commissions already, so plenty of opportunity to perfect it.
I especially love the trim: a yarn called ‘Duchessa’ by Laines du Nord, which I knitted around the top and crocheted around the bottom.
When I’ve perfected the pattern, I’ll write it up, but for now, here it is in the making:
I love this and want to make one for my granny who complains of a cold neck and shoulders in her wheelchair. Only thing is, I think she’s a little larger than you. Could you please let me know how big this knits up? I assume I can just add some stitches evenly at the front and back to scale it?
Hi Sophie,
Thank you! 🙂
I’m a size 12 and it’s just right. I reckon it’d be a roomy 10 and a snug 14, too, and has quite a lot of give in it. But you could definitely add a few stitches evenly front and back to scale it up 🙂
Thank you for replying so quickly! I think I’ll just add a few more stitches in, will want it to be quite roomy.
Thanks again.
You’re most welcome, and I hope she likes it 🙂
how do I get this pattern?
Hi Leslie. You can find it here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/264981233/the-ponchette-pattern-only
